Today, we are very excited to announce that we now have 9 million unique users on the Paga platform. This is a huge milestone for us and it wouldn’t have been possible without you!
What this means is that we have served over 1 million people since we hit 8 million users 4 months ago — talk about growth!
Living up to our mission of “Transforming lives by delivering innovative and universal access to financial services” — Our journey and motivation to grow has been largely inspired by our users, agents, businesses, partner banks and our growing team of over 200 people which has resulted in creating over 10,000 jobs.
Our journey to 9 Million users:
Growth — Since 2012, we have processed 57 million transactions worth N941 billion ( $3.6 billion) and we have reached profitability.
It took us 6 months to grow from 7 million to 8 million customers, and 4 months to get to 9 million — same amount of growth in just over half the time!
We celebrated our 9th anniversary — In April this year, we clocked 9 years of making life possible through innovation. Innovation has been key for us in creating meaningful technology that keys into our mission of making it seamless for people to send and receive money and to deliver financial services to over 70 million un-banked and underbanked Nigerians.
Awards & Recognitions — Paga was named by NIBBS as the top transacting mobile money operator of 2017 in the Global Mobile Regulatory & Monitoring Platform.
We also received another award at the Africa Fintech Summit in Washington DC for Most Innovative Fintech Company in Africa.
In June 2018, Paga was invited to join a unique alliance of over 50 Fintech investors and digital finance innovators as Founding Signatory to the New “Guidelines For Responsible Digital Financial Services”
At the Ogun State Investors Forum, our CEO/Founder; Tayo Oviosu was on a panel of discussion. It was an opportunity to share the impact Paga is making in communities across Ogun state where we have over 1600 agents and how we have created over 900 jobs.
Our CEO/Founder and Co-founder; Tayo Oviosu and Jay Alabraba met with his excellency, the Vice President of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to share our progress as a company and how to further drive financial inclusion in Nigeria.

Our Team — As of today, we currently have a growing team of over 200 young and passionate individuals across our offices in Nigeria, while we have a team of 20+ engineers at Ethiopia who work tirelessly to ensure the Paga platform works efficiently and seamlessly.
