Alright, here’s what's happening:
Last year, we released version one of the Paga App where we made the decision to offer the app stripped down to two functionalities: Send money & Request money. We did this with some good intentions (and a healthy dose of experimentation) in mind.
The app was received with mixed feelings. Those who loved it — loved it. A streamlined way to send money to anyone using their phone number or email, and requesting money from anyone, that could easily be paid in one click.
However, we heard your feedback about its limitations; You want to be able to do everything you currently do on Paga via web and USSD, in a seamless and easy way through the app.
Well today, we are very thrilled to unwrap all the brand new updates/features now available on the Paga App!
🚀 Here’s Everything New:
⚡Contacts — You can now add friends, family, colleagues, anyone from your phonebook contacts to your Paga account. This also allows you to save their bank account details and biller information (Electricity, internet or cable TV) along with their contacts and of course, saves you time when performing transactions related to them.
So you can have a completely frictionless experience next time you are paying for your mum’s cable TV subscription or anyone else, you get the gist!
⚡Shortcuts — Set up shortcuts for easy access to your most frequent transactions. Perform any transaction in one click!
⚡Improved dashboard — We made improvements to the dashboard to show you more at a glance.
You can now fund your account, see your 10 digit NUBAN number, access shortcuts, see exciting promos, all on your dashboard!
⚡Send Money — We have now introduced money transfers to all bank accounts.
You can now send money to anybody, wherever they prefer to store their money. You can still send money to any email address or phone number which is completely free and always works. 100%. Really you should try it.
One last thing here, as you complete your money transfer transactions, you can also share a successful transfer receipt directly with your recipients — sending of screenshots is so last decade, sweet 👌
⚡Request Money — Avoid the awkward conversations and reminders to folks that owe you money, simply send a money request to anyone in your Paga phonebook contacts or you can share your unique www.justpaga.me link. This link is shareable anywhere — WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Text Messages, Instagram, anywhere.
Whoever clicks on your link can send you money using their Paga account, debit card or direct bank debit!
⚡Bill Payments —We heard a lot of your feedback about wanting your favorite Paga features at your fingertips and so we have brought in bill payments.
You can now pay all your bills from one place; Cable TV, Internet, Electricity, etc.
Sidenote: We are introducing Recurring Payments very soon to the app but you can still set it up on the desktop or mobile web 😉👍
We are super excited for you to try out our new app which we have worked so hard on, so if you are a new user, you can download the app from your App store, and if you are an existing user, all you have to do is simply update your app and you are good to go ✨
